When you use Rentlane, we collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, property details, and tenant information you enter into the platform.
When you connect your bank account via Plaid, Plaid handles the connection directly. We receive transaction data (amounts, dates, memo fields) to match payments to tenants. We never see your banking credentials.
We use your data to operate Rentlane — matching rent payments, managing leases, tracking maintenance requests, and generating financial reports. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Lease signing is powered by DocuSeal. When tenants sign via SMS, their signature data is processed by DocuSeal in compliance with the ESIGN Act and UETA. DocuSeal maintains SOC 2 and GDPR compliance.
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Firebase for our infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security including 256-bit AES encryption.
