- Financial Data: Bank account information connected through Plaid for rent collection and financial tracking. Rentlane does not store your full bank credentials — Plaid handles authentication securely.
- Documents: Lease agreements, notices, and other documents you create, upload, or sign through the Service.
- Usage Analytics: Device information, browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interactions with the Service, collected to improve performance and user experience.
- Communications: Messages sent through the platform's tenant communication features.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Rentlane platform
- Process rent payments and financial transactions
- Generate lease documents and facilitate digital signing
- Send notifications, reminders, and service-related communications
- Provide customer support
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We work with trusted third parties to operate the Service:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, and hosting infrastructure
- Plaid — Bank account linking and financial data access
- Stripe — Payment processing for subscription billing
- DocuSeal — Document generation and electronic signatures
- Twilio — SMS notifications and tenant communications
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
- With Your Consent: We may share information when you explicitly direct us to do so.
